1. Baisha Bay Visitor Center | New Taipei City | North Coast & Guanyinshan National Scenic Area
After months of renovation, Baisha Bay Visitor Center reopened in November 2022! Kids and Adults can play with the interactive exhibits to learn more about Taiwan’s north coast and its ecology through fun activities. Visitors can also enjoy an incredible 9K virtual reality scenic video of the Baisha Bay, shot using 360-degree photography techniques and presented with Optoma’s advanced projection technology in the new immersive theater. After knowing more north coast, visitors can walk along Baisha Bay, flex their toes in the white sand, try to spot the creatures they’ve just learned about, and relax with nature.
2. TAIPOWER D/S ONE | New Taipei City
D/S ONE is a one-of-a-kind public space that introduces behind-the-scenes stories about electricity and provides visitors with diverse interactive experiences to inspire a green energy future. The POWERLAB allows innovators to exchange ideas; D/S One Gallery holds creative exhibitions related to energy; ENERGYM energizes visitors to interact with the facility to understand energy conversion. The Discharging Field, an immersive theater experience inside ENERGYM, explores areas of green energy with large-scale stitched projection and interactive floor projection, which was made possible by Optoma technology!
3. The National Museum of Marine Science & Technology (NMMST) | Keelung City
NMMST encompasses over 500,000 square meters in Keelung’s Badouzi Harbor and includes an award-winning Museum Complex, breathtaking highland viewpoints, parks, and trails. Supported by Optoma’s projection technology, the Museum Complex exhibitions combined with static, animated, and interactive projections offer fun and educational visitor experiences for all ages. Visitors can also enjoy spectacular views of the Keelung landscape and breath in fresh air by the coastal trail at NMMST’s outdoor campus. Definitely worth a half-day trip or even an enriching 2-day trip!
4. Longtian Culture Heritage Area | Tainan City
Longtian Culture Heritage Area preserved old railway tracks, remnants of the weighing bridge, the historic Taiwan Salt Company Longtian Depot, and a cluster of warehouses. The Heritage Area was brought back to life with interactive installations and public art. Inside the North Warehouse is an immersive theater based on artist Satoshi Ito’s “Chianan Irrigation.” In interactive mode, the visitors interact with the elements in the projected painting. In theater mode, visitors can see the development of Chianan Irrigation unfolding with an immersive painterly video. Due to vibration caused by passing trains, Optoma paid extra attention to projection stability and precision during installation, and this immersive theater is well worth the effort!
5. Kaohsiung Music Center (KMC) | Kaihsiung City
KMC is a landmark for pop music performances in Southern Taiwan offering regular music performances. Inside KMC, a permanent exhibition curated by Brightext titled “POP! POP! POP! An Interactive Journey” provides a compressive perspective on the history of Taiwan’s pop music with elements of public curation, letting everyone share what pop music means to them. In this exhibition, multimedia is key. Optoma not only provided full projection planning but also challenged itself with “A Stream of Teleportation,” a ten-meter-long, record-shaped projection installation. With data provided by other visitors, visitors can choose and edit visual and audio cues to change how and what this projected soundscape will play.
